Claiming fame for his well-endowed man parts and bragging the nickname of “The Hedgehog," Ron Jeremy is best known for his infinite resumé of X-rated films. This past Thursday, however, the pornographic superstar made time to talk with Speakeasy.

As part of the third in a series of four debates held by Ohio University's Baker University Center, Ron Jeremy’s visit created an excitement on campus that could not be contained. Following a debate against XXXChurch.com founder Craig Gross regarding the morality of pornography, Speakeasy had the opportunity to sit down with Ron Jeremy and discuss his own pornographic endeavors.

Speakeasy: Your opponent, Craig Gross, mentioned how oftentimes people in the pornography industry feel as though being in porn has ruined their normal sex lives, and he also suggested that regular people’s sex lives have been negatively affected by the porn industry.

Ron Jeremy: Guys are OK with, like, the one-night stands, and girls are getting more into that, too. Most guys would laugh if I said, “Oh, I really hate this.” Girls will come up to me, and they want to see what it is like to maybe mess around, and guys will go, “Oh, dude, you’ve got a tough life.” We do not mind that so much.

Girls, you know, they don’t always have to say what they do for a living unless they are recognizable like Jenna Jameson. You do not need to say it, what you do for a living, if you are not that mainstream. You wouldn’t know a lot of the biggest porn stars if they were right in front of you. You would not even recognize them if they were wearing a turtleneck sweater.

So it has not really affected me other than, you know, as soon as you get a girl who might be curious then maybe you have to do a bit of a performance. You do not really think about it. You just want to have fun. You do not really think about it. You are not being judged. “I am going to give her a good ride. I am a porn star.” You do not really think about that. You are just having fun. After so many years have gone by, nothing really happens. You look at the average rock star, rap star, TV star, [and] most rock stars go on the road, [and] they have huge social lives, bigger than porn stars. So it is not just us that have this [social life], you know. Rock stars and rap stars have huge social lives as well.

Speakeasy: Gross also mentioned how a female in the pornography industry was having problems with men not being able to differentiate between her character on film from her actual self in bed. So what we see on screen, is that the real Ron Jeremy, or are you different behind closed doors?

RJ: Well, I have been so many different kinds of characters. The only reason I got so well-known is because I take on so many different kinds of characters, and I take the character right to the sex scene. I like to think that I am a good enough actor that I will not ever have to have sex the same. Unless it is like a gonzo or a pro-amateur or an amateur, you just play yourself. You are with a beautiful girl, and then you have sex. Then, of course, it is probably similar to the real me. But when I am playing a character, like in “Fascination,” I played a nerd, so I have sex like a nerd [saying things such as]:

“Am I hurting you? Is this okay? Uh, what should I do now? Should I put my face there?”
“Yes, Ron.”
“Uh, how am I doing?”
“Shut up, and eat me!”

So I have to act like a nerd.

I have had to play a very confident, nasty man, and I go, “You like that, don’t you, honey?” See, they are all different characters. I would like to think that when you play a role, you take the role right into the sex. I think that is why I got known...I try to bring the character into the scenes [just like] back in the days when there were story lines.

So the real me would be me in an amateur scene because then you are just playing yourself. Still, you are doing it differently [because] hair has to be like this, lights like this, and you have got to get the cameras in there. Like right now we are speaking like this, we are talking like this because the camera is over there, so we adapt to the camera. We have to.

Speakeasy: You have obviously slept with a lot of women, but who is your ultimate fantasy that you have not yet “conquered”?

RJ: Whenever a guy asks me that I say, “Your mom,” but I cannot do that to you. I guess I would say Pam Anderson, J. Lo, Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan, Michelle Pfeiffer, the usual gang. I know a lot of celebrities, too, actually. If you look at my book it shows me with a lot of famous actresses.

Speakeasy: Have you ever regretted your choice in pursuing the porn industry?

RJ: No. I would have liked to go on more to mainstream. I’ve done some things all the kids know, but I do not regret. I just want to keep on pushing and doing more regular films. I have a few coming out.

Speakeasy: What do you think is the worst thing about the modern-day porn industry? If you could change one thing about it, what would it be?

RJ: It is turning too much into a three-ring circus, I think. It is not enough storyline. A lot of people do not really care about the storyline -- they fast-forward it. Back in the old days, it was more like a movie that had different kinds of sex in it. Now, it is like you have a film just anal or just this, just that. It is becoming more sex-oriented, which I guess is good for the public, but I personally like the acting jobs more. So it is not a bad thing. It is just different.

Speakeasy: I have to ask: What is your favorite position?

RJ:
When you have tried them all, I like missionary because you look at the pretty face. I enjoy all the other ones, too, you know. I like doggy. But I guess my favorite, when it comes down to the finish line, I like missionary.

Speakeasy: Up to 30 percent of women are unable to reach orgasm. What advice do you have for them and their partners?

RJ:
Sometimes the harder you try, the more difficult it is. Women often have better orgasms when they get to be in their middle 20s and 30s, or after they have had a child, they often have good climaxes because their muscles move a certain way. I would say that the best thing a girl can do is to masturbate. Then she knows what it is that gets her off. That way she can do that when she is with her husband and boyfriend. She can masturbate, and then when she gets really close to climaxing, have him come along and pop it right in there, and now she is actually going to climax with him.

So if you can do it when you are by yourself, then you can do it when you are with somebody. If you keep practicing that, then you will be having orgasms with your boyfriend or husband. So I think the most important thing a girl can do is to basically practice alone and also communicate. A very good comedian friend of mine, Sam Kinison, used to say that girls will tell their best friend, their hairdresser, their cousin...Tell us! The guys are doing it in the first place!

Speakeasy: Of all the films you have done, if you could give us a recommendation of one that we definitely have to see, what would it be?

RJ:
I recommend mainstream ones. In porn there are so many that I am in, you know. There are 2,000. I like to plug the mainstream ones. There is a film coming out next month with Tom Arnold and Dave Carradine. It is a caveman comedy. You can see it on the Internet now on YouTube. It is called “Homo Erectus,” [and] it is coming out next month in theaters. Everyone loves “Boondock Saints” -- it is huge in colleges -- and “Orgasmo.” “Andre the Butcher” is at Blockbuster right now. “Toxic Avenger IV,” “Class of Nuke ‘Em High 3.”

I am coming out with a new one about chickens who eat the world called “Poultry-Geist.” [There is also] a film called “The Wickeds.” [There are] a bunch of Rodney Dangerfield movies [such as] “Killing Zoe.” [There is] “Detroit Rock City” -- the kid’s film. I am in that one. There are a lot of fun films out there.

Speakeasy: Can you tell us about your best sexual experience?

RJ: If a guy asks me that I say, “Your mom,” but I can’t do that! I like Tabitha Stevens and also Kristy Kagan. They were really into it, and they have got great bodies so I really enjoyed them a lot. There is so much to talk about because how can I pick out a specific thing? In my book, I discuss being with 15 girls at one time, which is actually more of a chore than anything else. I think the best thing is two girls, maybe three. Beyond that point you have to work too hard. You need girls that are into each other, so if you are taking a break then they can still do each other. I would say two girls is about the best thing. Two girls and one guy.

Speakeasy: And just for the record: How big are you?

RJ: I am two inches...from the floor. I am sitting here right now, and my penis is out parked in the car. The answer is nine and three-quarters when I am hard. It is not quite 10, but I will take it.

And also, I have a tattoo on my penis of a bigger penis.
