WEEK SIX

By Corey Ryan, Sports Editor

October 14, 2007 | 12:30 p.m.

How bad is Zach Swartz at this pick em? What kind of a tear is Will on in these games? Granted we aren't picking against the spread, but still, he should consider gambling.

The guys are back with their picks for week six:

Here are the standings:

Lloyd 53-23

Will 52-24

Corey 48-28

Weisman 45-31

Swartz 41-36

--

Sunday October 7

1:00 PM FOX

Minnesota Vikings at Chicago Bears

Corey Ryan

Who would win, Ditka or God? God, but in overtime. The Vikings aren't God.

CHI 16 MIN 10

Michael Weisman

Bears knock off a division foe for the second straight week.

CHI 17 MIN 6

Zack Lloyd

I like Griese to take control this game.

CHI 22 MIN 13

Zach Swartz

I can't be any worse at picking them, so I'll take Minnesota on the road. Last week was a fluke, and the Bears are still injured.

MIN 28 CHI 24

Will Strome

Minnesota has no where to go but up. Not this week.

CHI 21 - MIN 6

1:00 PM CBS

Miami Dolphins at Cleveland Browns

Corey Ryan

I don't know what to pick here. This is a game the Browns traditionally lose and traditionally win. They usually lose this type of game because it's one they should win. They also lose games like these because it is a season defining game. Are they going to be 5-11 or 7-8? There's a big difference. However, all the hype in Cleveland is swirling around the Tribe, and it's about time. Lebron is even making more headlines with his Yankee hat drama and his attention issues. When no one's paying attention, the Browns will sneak up on you. This game will probably play second fiddle to the stupid Bengals on local TV, so I'll be at the CI, which is where I watched the Oakland debacle. Anyways, did you really think I was going to make this pick:

CLE 27 MIA 20

Michael Weisman

I know I should never pick the Browns, but Miami's just that bad.

CLE 31 MIA 23

Zack Lloyd

What the hell happened to the 25-30 word limit Corey. Because we all had to read that grueling commentary I'm picking against Corey's beloved pumpkinheads.

MIA 28 CLE 14

Zach Swartz

Cleveland has a good chance to go 8-8 this year. If they can't win this game, they won't ever pull that off. Then again, they are the Browns.

CLE 24 MIA 20

Will Strome

This could very well be the only time I'll take Cleveland.

CLE 20 - MIA 16

1:00 PM FOX

Washington Redskins at Green Bay Packers

Corey Ryan

This is a real season definer for the Pack. I think they take it.

GB 23 WAS 21

Michael Weisman

Both teams have good defenses. I'd like to take Washington but playing in Lambeau Field gives the Packers the upper hand.

GB 17 WAS 13

Zack Lloyd

Mild upset here. Redskin Defense is good and Portis might break out.

WAS 24 GB 16

Zach Swartz

Green Bay bounces back from a fluke loss last weekend in a close one

GB 24 WAS 17

Will Strome

Green Bay's defense will be the determining factor in this win.

GB 23 - WAS 17

1:00 PM CBS

Cincinnati Bengals at Kansas City Chiefs

Corey Ryan

I hate the Bengals, but I wouldn't not pick them in a game like this if I really thought they would win. The Chiefs struggled to move the ball last week because the Jags are a legit D, while I could have played linebacker for the Bengals prior to the bye. If they lose this game, they'll be in trouble.

KC 30 CIN 27

Michael Weisman

Cincy's finished with the tough part of their schedule. After the bye week, they're healthier with Rudi coming back and they'll have more than the two linebackers they had against the Pats two weeks ago. The Bengals get the win and get things rolling again.

CIN 34 KC 21

Zack Lloyd

I'd like to take this opportunity to curse Larry Johnson again. The only bigger travesty to drafting him in fantasy football is the fact that he's on the can't drop list. Bengals in a nailbiter.

CIN 34 KC 28

Zach Swartz

Cincinnati beats the baaad Chiefs while Cleveland beats their old quarterback.

CIN 31 KC 21

Will Strome

Turnovers will decide this one, I'll take Carson Palmer over any KC QB.

CIN 33 - KC 26

1:00 PM FOX

Philadelphia Eagles at New York Jets

Corey Ryan

I hope Lloyd does a new little spiel about how the Jets are bad.

PHI 38 NYJ 10

Michael Weisman

Who cares?

PHI 27 NYJ 16

Zack Lloyd

Ask Eric Mangini how that Thomas Jones signing went.

PHI 29 NYJ 17

Zach Swartz

Philly takes it on the road.

PHI 27 NYJ 20

Will Strome

The Eagles' are in shambles but their still better off then those Jets.

PHI 30 - NYJ 21

1:00 PM CBS

Tennessee Titans at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Corey Ryan

Not drinking the VY Kool-Aid

TB 28 TEN 18

Michael Weisman

The Bucs are the surprise team of the year. The Titans have been impressive too. Vince finds a way to get it done with Tampa lacking a running game.

TEN 24 TB 20

Zack Lloyd

Why the hell is Tampa Bay good. I can't figure it out. Their star running back's out, their quarterback has been bald for 13 years and they don't even really have a playmaker on offense. That said, I'll take them over the Titans.

TB 17 TEN 13

Zach Swartz

Cadillac's out for the season. Vince Young finds a way to win.

TEN 27 TB 24

Will Strome

Tampa's defense is no fluke and the Bucs pick up a win at home

 TB 28 - TEN 27

1:00 PM FOX

St. Louis Rams at Baltimore Ravens

Corey Ryan

Are Stephen Jackson and Marc Bulger both hurt? I'm not even going to look it up, I'm just going to assume.

BAL 3 STL 2

Michael Weisman

St. Louis keeps it close but don't have much of a chance.

BAL 16 STL 13

Zack Lloyd

The Rams finally figure it out. Baltimore is in trouble this season.

STL 23 BAL 10

Zach Swartz

Baltimore shuts them out.

BAL 13 STL 0

Will Strome

An ugly win is better than a pretty loss. Baltimore sneaks by but continues to look less and less like the team from last season.

BAL 19 - STL 12

1:00 PM CBS

Houston Texans at Jacksonville Jaguars

Corey Ryan

Here I'm drinking the Jacksonville Kool-Aid. They are third-tier AFC, but that's only because the first two tiers only include one team in each.

JAC 28 HOU 10

Michael Weisman

I'll be different and pick Houston.

HOU 29 JAC 23

Zack Lloyd

I like Jones-Drew to break out but Houston to prevail.

HOU 30 JAC 24

Zach Swartz

Jacksonville wins in a tossup at home.

JAC 21 HOU 17

Will Strome

The Jags' D smothers the Texans.

JAC 20 - HOU 9

 4:15 PM CBS

New England Patriots at Dallas Cowboys

Corey Ryan

I'm not picking against the Cowboys for spite (inside joke), I just really think the Patriots are going to make a statement in this game. They are going to dominate from beginning to finish.

NE 35 DAL 20

Michael Weisman

Game of the week but the AFC is just better than the NFC.

NE 38 DAL 27

Zack Lloyd

If I could wish for one thing right now, it would be that I was part of Corey's inside joke. I'll take the real #81 in this one. (Obvious joke.)

NE 40 DAL 27

Zach Swartz

Dallas was exposed last Monday, but God almighty somehow they still found a way to win. Romo took his kicker out for a nice meal Tuesday evening. Not this week.

NE 35 DAL 24

Will Strome

Tony Romo is far from being a top five QB in the league. This week is why.

NE 31 - DAL 20

4:05 PM FOX

Carolina Panthers at Arizona Cardinals

Corey Ryan

Every week there is one game I have no idea. So I'll take Arizona because Vinny Testaverde may be starting (not going to look up if I spelled that last name correctly).

ARI 21 CAR 10

Michael Weisman

It's a battle of old-timers with Warner vs. Vinny. Warner's a bit younger so he gets it done.

ARI 30 CAR 20

Zack Lloyd

Here we go Warner, here we go. WOO WOO. The greatest show on turf makes a return appearance in the desert.

ARI 41 CAR 23

Zach Swartz

Leinart's out, Cardinals still win at home.

ARI 17 CAR 10

Will Strome

Carolina is far from the Super Bowl team they were a few years ago. It's going to be a while till their back.

ARI 34 - CAR 18

4:15 PM CBS

Oakland Raiders at San Diego Chargers

Corey Ryan

The Chargers are too talented not to make the playoffs. This is where the turn around continues.

SD 30 OAK 10

Michael Weisman

Seems like a no-brainer.

SD 30 OAK 17

Zack Lloyd

Oakland is sneaky and Culpepper was downright ridiculous last week. I still think LT runs wild.

SD 31 OAK 10

Zach Swartz

I kind of like San Diego. Kind of.

SD 27 OAK 3

Will Strome

Do you believe in miracles? Yes, but not today.

SD 31 - OAK 21

8:15 PM NBC

New Orleans Saints at Seattle Seahawks

Corey Ryan

Last week I decided to stop picking New Orleans. I continue that trend.

SEA 27 NO 24

Michael Weisman

Seattle's too much for the under-achieving Saints.

SEA 27 NO 19

Zack Lloyd

I love picking the Saints. Not at Seattle though.

SEA 20 NO 13

Zach Swartz

Both teams are not looking good. Seattle has the edge at home, even without Branch.

SEA 27 NO 24

Will Strome

Like Corey, I have no choice but to retire from picking the Saints. Long live the Ain'ts.

SEA 29 - NO 22

Monday Oct. 8

8:30 PM ESPN

New York Giants at Atlanta Falcons

Corey Ryan

Why are the Giants always on primetime and why am I yet to watch them? I'll be watching game 3 here.

NYG 28 ATL 10

Michael Weisman

What an awful Monday night game. Who schedules these things?

NYG 24 ATL 17

Zack Lloyd

Plaxico Burress will outscore Atlanta.

NYG 35 ATL 7

Zach Swartz

Both teams are horrible. Tie game.

ATL 10 NYG 7

Will Strome

I'd pick against New York if it was ANYBODY but the Falcons.

NYG 23 - ATL 13
